2

Click Submit. A unique six-digit verification code will be generated and displayed.

Why Technician Verification?

Why verify your PCFIXIT technician?

Voice phishing, impersonation and social engineering attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

Technician Verification gives you an additional way to confirm that you are speaking with an authorised PCFIXIT technician before you follow instructions, install software or allow remote access to your device.

The process is designed to give you greater confidence that the person assisting you is genuinely associated with PCFIXIT before a support session continues.

When To Use It

When should I verify a technician?

You can use Technician Verification whenever you want additional reassurance that you are speaking with a genuine PCFIXIT technician.

01

You don't recognise the technician

This can be especially useful if you are a new client or you have not previously spoken with the technician assisting you.

02

Something feels unusual

If something about the call, request or conversation does not feel right, verify the technician before taking any further action.

03

The call quality is poor

If audio quality makes it difficult to confidently recognise the person you are speaking with, use verification before continuing.

By verifying the technician's identity, you gain additional confidence that your support request is being handled by an authorised PCFIXIT professional.

How It Works

How does Technician Verification work?

The verification process creates a shared, temporary code that both you and the PCFIXIT technician can use to confirm the support interaction.

01

Enter your name

Enter your name in the verification tool and complete the human verification check. You may need to solve a CAPTCHA challenge.

02

Click Submit

Submit the verification request using the button inside the Technician Verification tool.

03

A six-digit code is generated

A unique six-digit verification code is generated and displayed on your screen.

04

The technician confirms the code

The PCFIXIT technician will receive your verification request and read the verification code back to you.

05

Verification is confirmed

Once the verification has completed successfully, a confirmation message will appear in the verification tool.

Verification Complete

You can now continue with greater confidence.

A successful verification confirms that the technician participating in the verification process is associated with PCFIXIT.

Important Security Reminder

If something does not look right, stop the session.

A legitimate PCFIXIT technician should not object to you verifying their identity. If the information shown in the verification tool does not match the person contacting you, the verification fails, or you are uncertain whether the request is genuine, stop the interaction and contact PCFIXIT independently.
